(encounters us)
Luke
1:46-55:
46And Mary said:
"My soul glorifies the Lord 47and my spirit
rejoices in God my Savior, 48for he has
been mindful of the humble state of his servant. From now on all generations
will call me blessed, 49for the Mighty
One has done great things for me—holy is his name. 50His mercy extends to those who fear
him, from generation to generation. 51He has
performed mighty deeds with his arm; he has scattered those who are proud in
their inmost thoughts. 52He has brought
down rulers from their thrones but has lifted up the humble. 53He has filled
the hungry with good things but has sent the rich away empty. 54He has helped
his servant

(neighbor)
Luke
10:25-37
25 On one occasion an expert in
the law stood up to test Jesus. "Teacher," he asked, "what must
I do to inherit eternal life?" 26 "What is written in the
Law?" he replied. "How do you read it?" 27 He
answered: " 'Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your
soul and with all your strength and with all your mind'; and, 'Love your
neighbor as yourself.'" 28 "You have answered
correctly," Jesus replied. "Do this and you will live." 29 But he
wanted to justify himself, so he asked Jesus, "And who is my
neighbor?" 30 In reply Jesus said: "A
man was going down from

Day Three Daily Theme - Jesus encounters us en la Cruz (on the Cross)
John
20:19-29
19
On the
evening of that first day of the week, when the disciples were together, with
the doors locked for fear of the Jews, Jesus came and stood among them and
said, "Peace be with you!"
20
After
he said this, he showed them his hands and side. The disciples were overjoyed
when they saw the Lord. 21 Again Jesus said,
"Peace be with you! As the Father has sent me, I am sending you." 22 And with that he breathed
on them and said, "Receive the Holy Spirit. 23 If you forgive anyone his
sins, they are forgiven; if you do not forgive them, they are not
forgiven." 24 Now Thomas
(called Didymus), one of the Twelve, was not with the disciples when Jesus
came. 25
So the other disciples told him, "We have seen the
Lord!" But he said to them, "Unless I see the nail marks in his hands
and put my finger where the nails were, and put my hand into his side, I will
not believe it." 26
A week later his disciples were in the house again, and Thomas was
with them. Though the doors were locked, Jesus came and stood among them and
said, "Peace be with you!" 27 Then he said
to Thomas, "Put your finger here; see my hands. Reach out your hand and
put it into my side. Stop doubting and believe." 28 Thomas said to
him, "My Lord and my God!" 29 Then Jesus
told him, "Because you have seen me, you have believed; blessed are those
who have not seen and yet have believed."

Exodus
14:1-14, 1 Then the LORD said to Moses, 2 "Tell the Israelites to
turn back and encamp near Pi Hahiroth, between Migdol and the sea. They are to
encamp by the sea, directly opposite Baal Zephon. 3 Pharaoh will think, 'The
Israelites are wandering around the land in confusion, hemmed in by the
desert.' 4
And I will harden Pharaoh's heart, and he will pursue them. But I will gain
glory for myself through Pharaoh and all his army, and the Egyptians will know
that I am the LORD." So the Israelites did this. 5 When the king of

See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? I am
making a way in the desert and streams in the wasteland.

Day Five Daily Theme - Vaya con Dios (Go with God)
Acts 2:
1-21
1
When
the day of Pentecost came, they were all together in one place. 2 Suddenly a sound like the
blowing of a violent wind came from heaven and filled the whole house where
they were sitting. 3
They
saw what seemed to be tongues of fire that separated and came to rest on each
of them. 4
All of
them were filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in other tongues as
the Spirit enabled them. 5
Now
there were staying in Jerusalem God-fearing Jews from every nation under
heaven. 6
When
they heard this sound, a crowd came together in bewilderment, because each one
heard them speaking in his own language. 7 Utterly amazed, they
asked: "Are not all these men who are speaking Galileans? 8 Then how is it that each
of us hears them in his own native language? 9 Parthians, Medes and
Elamites; residents of Mesopotamia, Judea and Cappadocia, Pontus and Asia, 10 Phrygia and Pamphylia,
Egypt and the parts of Libya near Cyrene; visitors from Rome 11 (both Jews and converts
to Judaism); Cretans and Arabs-we hear them declaring the wonders of God in our
own tongues!" 12
Amazed
and perplexed, they asked one another, "What does this mean?" 13 Some, however,
made fun of them and said, "They have had too much wine." 14 Then Peter stood up with
the Eleven, raised his voice and addressed the crowd: "Fellow Jews and all
of you who live in
